  6. As behoves a VV Sunday Correspondent, let me turn once more to ye olde vinyl The Bodines made glorious, glimmering pop music, the pinnacle of 80s indie before syncopated funky-drummer beats took over. There’s a good case to be made for Therese () as the greatest single ever. Certainly it should be on heavy rotation on all music radio.
  7. Like New Order Brotherhood ( Gram LP - Vinyl Plus+) [VINYL] side 1, only with Ian McCulloch on vocals (the Bunnymen comparison is obvious I suppose given the use of Ian Broudie as producer). There's something else there though - the sleeve notes tentatively suggest Orange Juice - and I see where they're coming from/5(4).
  8. Therese / I Feel, a Single by The Bodines. Released in February on Creation (catalog no. CRE ; Vinyl 7"). Genres: C86, Jangle Pop.
  9. Two further singles followed; their second, "Therese", was included on the C86 compilation album. Like their contemporaries Primal Scream, The Mighty Lemon Drops and The Weather Prophets, The Bodines went on to sign up with a major label with great hopes of transferring their success to the mainstream charts.
